Once we have provided you with your login data, the rest is all down to you, but don't be too daunted, the website system is easy to use and once your comfortable with it, you will be flying through your website setup. Its a great sense of achievement to build your own website, you will be very proud of yourself when its completed.
If you are setting up a basic website (non-eCommerce system), it won't take you too long at all to get your website completed. A couple of hours, or a long afternoon and you should be just about done. However, eCommerce websites are much more advanced and hence the setup time will take considerably longer. The time it will take for you to get your website fully functioning depends largely on the number and complexity of the products or services you wish to sell. Realistically, it could take you between 1 and 4 weeks for a website with 100 products or so. If you have thousands of products, it could take you a little bit longer. Go slow, get it right first time and be thorough and you will have a nice website at the end. Rush the setup, and you be doing a lot of tweaking. Think about it first.
We would recommend you spend some time exploring the new website system, and learning the features and what you can do. Once your happy then start tweaking your design, create your categories, create your products, create your information pages, upload your images, set your pricing, setup delivery methods and setup your payment methods, and don't forget to setup your e-mail accounts and any e-mail redirection settings you may need. Once you've done all this and you're happy with your final masterpiece, you will want to submit your new creation to the search engines so they know that your new website exists. Then you can concentrate on getting traffic to your website, building inbound links and if necessary tweaking your SEO to obtain a good ranking in the search engines. Most search engines will index your page within a week or two, but may take longer to trawl your site. Submitting a sitemap is always a good idea as it gives the search spiders a dedicated file of all your website pages so it can find and index your site more thoroughly. It may take 6 months to a year for your website to be indexed in the core search results as new websites are largely ignored for a unknown time period to prevent fraud or spam sites.
